COVID-19 Precautions | Temporary Club Closure

We continue to monitor the latest updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, federal, state and local agencies to help reduce risks related to the spread of COVID-19.

In accordance with the order of the City of Minneapolis and the State of Minnesota, we are temporarily suspending all club operations effective at 5pm, March 17th, 2020. While there are currently no known cases of COVID-19 among both members and staff, Calhoun Beach Club is temporarily closed to reduce risks related to the spread of COVID-19.
There’s a lot going on behind the scenes. Our club team is working tirelessly preparing for your return with deep cleaning protocols to ensure the club is safe and ready to welcome you back.
As the health and well-being of our community is our highest priority, the following steps were taken to help ensure that the club remained a safe place for all.

Our preventative efforts:

  • We use a hospital-grade cleaning solution (as recommended for use by the CDC on similar viruses) for all facility cleaning needs.
  • Increased cleaning procedures, adding 4 more shifts to be completed daily with focus on high-touch surfaces.
  • Sanitation Stations with alcohol-based hand sanitizer are available throughout the club for easy access and convenient use in between hand washes.
  • Also part of our Sanitation Stations, are disinfectant wipes to wipe down equipment and surfaces before and after use.
  • More educational signage to emphasize the location of our Sanitation Stations throughout the club, as well as remind all to take proactive measures to stay well.
  • Restricted entry. Anyone showing signs of illness will be sent home.
  • Touchless check-in. You may now scan your own cards or provide your name and valid ID to the Service Desk.
  • Operated at 50% capacity to allow for recommended social distancing.

What you can do to stay well (and what we’ve also asked of our employees):

  • Stay home if you’re feeling sick, and observe the shelter in place order to protect others at-risk.
  • Frequently wash your hands using hot, soapy water for 20 seconds—this is the best way to control transmission in normal, healthy adults.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Engage in no-contact greetings. Avoid shaking hands, as well as high fives and touching the hands of others.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze with a tissue or flexed elbow; throw tissue away immediately and wash hands.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose.
  • Reference the resources published by the CDC here.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time, and we will keep you informed of any new developments. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
