Healthy On-The-Go Snacks

Posted on: September 10th, 2019 by Allie Voss

September means a few things… football, fall weather, and back to school. A few months ago we shared a list of healthy summer snacks to bring to your next picnic. Today we wanted to share 10 on-the-go snack ideas that can be brought to work, school, or eaten on the way to sports practice. You can combine or substitute anything on this list, just get creative with it!

  1. String cheese, beef stick or beef jerky, and grapes
  2. Apple dipped in natural peanut butter
  3. Carrot sticks and pita chips dipped in red pepper hummus
  4. Sliced banana dipped in almond butter and sprinkled with cinnamon
  5. Plain Greek yogurt with sliced strawberries and a drizzle of honey
  6. A more natural granola bar like an RX Bar or a Larabar
  7. Grain-free crackers and cheese
  8. Sliced cucumbers and snap peas dipped in ranch
  9. Sliced peaches and a side of raw almonds
  10. Baby bell peppers dipped in guacamole

Honestly, it was hard to narrow it down to just 10. There are countless combinations to customize your favorite on-the-go snack. Although it can be tempting to grab a chocolate chip granola bar as you race out the door, these options are just as easy and are filled with plenty of nutrients! If your kids are picky, give them options to choose from and they may even be more willing to eat those veggies if they get to pick them out! Do you have a favorite that we missed? Let us know, we’d love to hear your favorites.
