Healthy Summer Snacks

If you’re anything like us, you feel like summer is already flying by. Between work, cabin weekends, holidays, and get-togethers, it can be hard to stay on track with healthy eating habits. To follow up last week’s blog post on ways to get moving in between all the summer fun, we thought it would be a good idea to share 10 healthy summer snack ideas for picnics, days on the lake, or backyard barbeques.

  1. Charcuterie board filled with grain free crackers, cheese, fruit, and dark chocolate
  2. Fresh veggies from the farmers market (cucumbers or peppers) dipped in hummus
  3. Homemade trail mix with raw nuts, dried fruit, and dark chocolate
  4. Seasonal fruit from the farmers market like watermelon or cherries
  5. Mini Caprese Skewers (grape tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil on a toothpick)
  6. Apple Nachos (sliced apples drizzled with natural peanut butter & sprinkled with coconut)
  7. Refreshing berry smoothie with berries, yogurt, protein, and almond milk
  8. Grain free chips & homemade guacamole (avocado, tomato, onion, lime, salt & pepper)
  9. Frozen grapes (these taste delicious, especially in the summer heat)
  10. Air popped popcorn with pink Himalayan salt 

There are endless possibilities, especially with all of the great produce options in the summertime. Find a local farmers market and fill your reusable bags with all the goods. Just like those summer workouts, it doesn’t have to be complicated. When you show up to your next gathering with homemade guacamole and caprese skewers, you’ll be everyone’s favorite guest!
